Do you take insurance?
I am an out of network provider for many insurance companies. I do not bill insurance directly, however, most insurance companies will provide "out of network" coverage for mental health treatment from a Santa Barbara Therapist and reimburse you for a portion of the fee. I can provide you with a bill to submit to your insurance. I recommend contacting your insurance provider to inquire about your mental health benefits and ask if they will cover services from an out of network provider. Be sure to find out how many sessions are covered, what your deductible is, and how much will you have to pay out of pocket for an out of network provider.
What is your fee?
Your investment for a 60 minute individual sessions is $180. .
In some circumstances, I am able to offer a sliding scale fee for clients with limited financial resources. Please reach out for more details and eligibility requirements. If you are in need of services and feel you cannot afford my fee, I'm happy to help with referrals to mental health clinics. There are times in which an intern whom I directly supervise may be available to work with clients at a discounted rate.
How long will I need to come to therapy?
Good Question! Hard answer! Everyone is different. It depends on what is bringing you to therapy. Typically, the process takes between 6-20 sessions before begin you notice change in your life.
I recommend clients begin weekly therapy initially. This helps us get to know each other and create a strong alliance that will help you meet your therapy goals. I am open to shifting to more spaced out sessions as time goes on. I see many clients every other week or even monthly after we have had a few weeks of weekly session.
Are our sessions confidential?
Yes! Your privacy is important to me and by law, the therapeutic relationship is confidential. Exceptions to confidentiality include; Suspected Child Abuse, Elder Abuse, or Dependent Adult Abuse, a serious threat towards others, a serious threat to ones self.
Are you available for emergencies?
Everyone has occasional emergencies and I make an effort to check messages every 24 hours and return calls within that time frame. However, please be aware that I am not a crisis counselor. I do not offer 24 hour telephone coverage or 24 hour crisis coverage. Client who are frequently in mental health crisis may need to seek a higher level of care. If there is an emergency and you cannot wait for my return call, please call 211, 911 or go to your local emergency room.
